Why UAE Residents Are Choosing Brazil?
For internationally mobile families in the Emirates, a second citizenship is not a luxury — it is sensible planning. Brazil offers one of the cleanest routes to it. A child born on Brazilian soil is a Brazilian citizen from birth under the principle of jus soli, entitled to a Brazilian passport with broad visa-free travel. Just as importantly, the parents of a Brazilian-born child gain an expedited route to permanent residency in Brazil and, in time, to naturalisation — giving the whole family a genuine long-term option, confirmed case by case by licensed Brazilian counsel.
UAE residents also appreciate the practicalities. Brazil requires no special "birth visa" and welcomes visiting families; its private maternity care is excellent; and, for those already living far from their countries of origin, adding a strong second nationality for their children is a natural extension of a globally mobile life. Many of our families are expatriates in the UAE for whom flexibility and mobility are already part of daily life — Brazil simply secures that flexibility for the next generation.
Frequently Asked Questions
From Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Beyond — Planning the Journey?
Because we are structured around the UAE, the arrangements fit the way families here actually live. We begin with a private assessment — in Dubai, in Abu Dhabi, or wherever is convenient — to understand your objectives and set out the pathway and timing. From there we coordinate your entry documentation and travel so you arrive in Brazil comfortably ahead of the birth, typically around 30 to 32 weeks and always guided by medical advice. We account for the realities of leaving the Emirates for a period: school terms, work commitments, and travelling as a family.
If you're considering the route specifically from the emirate of Dubai, our dedicated overview of a Birth in Brazil from Dubai covers that journey in detail; families based elsewhere in the region may prefer our guide to a private birth programme for Middle East families.
Medical, Documentation and Residence — Fully Managed
Once in Brazil, your prenatal care, hospital pre-registration and delivery are coordinated with accredited private hospitals and obstetricians, with bilingual support so nothing is lost in translation. After the birth, we coordinate your newborn's full documentation — the Brazilian birth certificate, the CPF and the passport — and the parents' residency application, all handled locally through the appropriate authorities and independent licensed professionals. You leave Brazil with a citizen child, complete documents, and a residency pathway underway, and with our continued support afterwards as your family's plans evolve.

Can UAE residents travel to Brazil to give birth?
Yes. Brazil does not require a special "birth visa" and does not restrict travel for pregnant visitors. We coordinate your entry documentation and the timing of travel from the UAE as part of the programme.
Does my baby become a Brazilian citizen automatically?
Yes. Brazil grants citizenship by place of birth (jus soli), so a baby born in Brazil is a Brazilian citizen from birth and entitled to a Brazilian passport — regardless of the parents' nationality or UAE residence status.
Can the parents get residency in Brazil?
Parents of a Brazilian-born child have an expedited basis to apply for permanent residency, with a route to naturalisation over time. This is handled by independent, licensed Brazilian counsel, who confirm the requirements for your circumstances.
Do you assist families outside Dubai?
Yes. We work with families across the Emirates — Dubai, Abu Dhabi and beyond — and arrange the assessment wherever is convenient for you.
How long will we be away from the UAE?
Most families are in Brazil for around three months, allowing time for the birth and to complete the newborn's documentation, though the exact length depends on medical and administrative timing.
How Much Does the Private Birth Programme Cost?
The cost of a private birth journey in Brazil depends on each family’s individual requirements, including the chosen level of accommodation, medical arrangements, length of stay, local support and the services required before and after the birth.
As a general indication, families should plan for a total budget starting from approximately USD 25,000, with more comprehensive private arrangements requiring a higher budget.
Following a private consultation, we provide a personalised programme outline based on your family’s individual circumstances and requirements.
Every family journey is different — and every programme is planned accordingly.
Can Families of Any Nationality Join the Private Birth Programme?
Private Birth Brazil welcomes internationally mobile families from different countries and nationalities.
However, participation in the programme and travel to Brazil are always subject to each family’s individual circumstances, including applicable visa or entry requirements, passport nationality and Brazilian immigration regulations.
During the initial private consultation, we assess your individual situation and discuss whether the programme can be structured around your family’s journey.
Every family is assessed individually to ensure the journey is planned appropriately and responsibly.
Which Documents Do I Need to Apply for the Programme?
To begin the Private Birth Programme, we initially require basic identification and travel information so that we can understand your family’s circumstances and prepare your journey.
Depending on your individual situation, this may include:
Valid passport copies for the parents
Pregnancy confirmation and expected due date
Current medical information relevant to travel and maternity planning
Details of your current country of residence
Information about your intended travel dates
Any existing Brazilian visa or travel documentation, where applicable
Additional documents may be requested later depending on your circumstances and the services included in your programme.
We guide you through the documentation process step by step, so you do not need to prepare everything before your initial consultation
At What Stage of Pregnancy Can I Apply?
You can contact us and apply for the Private Birth Programme at different stages of pregnancy. However, the earlier you begin planning, the better. We recommend contacting us as early as possible, ideally during the first or second trimester. This allows sufficient time to coordinate your travel, accommodation, medical arrangements, documentation and other aspects of your journey. If you are already further along in your pregnancy, you can still contact us. We will review your individual circumstances, expected travel dates and requirements and advise you on the available options.
There is no single pregnancy week that applies to every family — each journey is assessed individually.
Please note that your ability to travel by air is subject to your medical condition and the requirements of your airline. For example, Emirates requires a medical certificate for travel from the 29th week of a single pregnancy and does not permit travel from the 37th week.
How Many People Does the Programme Cover?
The Private Birth Programme is designed for two adults — the expectant mother and her husband.
The programme is planned around the couple and their journey to Brazil, with arrangements tailored to their individual needs.
